Board announces Andrew Will appointed SHA CEO
The following message is sent on behalf of Arlene Wiks, Chair, SHA Board of Directors
I am pleased to announce that the SHA Board of Directors has appointed Andrew Will as Chief Executive Officer of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. He comes to this position from his temporary role as Interim CEO and from his permanent position as Vice President, Information, Infrastructure and Support.
Since the departure of Scott Livingstone as CEO in late 2021, the Board has been actively engaged in a process to identify his successor. As part of these efforts, we secured a search firm, undertook consultations on the key attributes of a successful CEO and conducted widespread advertising that attracted applicants nationally and internationally.
At the conclusion of this process, Andrew was chosen as the best choice to lead our organization in the years ahead.
Born and educated in Saskatchewan, Andrew has dedicated his career to health care. He has nearly three decades of leadership experience building strong organizational culture focused on supporting individuals and teams to achieve their best for the people we serve.
Andrew has previously served as CEO of the North-East Health District, Cypress Health Region and 3sHealth in Saskatchewan as well as CEO of Aspen Regional Health in Alberta. He has also served as Interim CEO of the Saskatoon Health Region and served in executive leadership positions in Alberta Health Services.
Andrew is a testament to our home-grown talent in Saskatchewan. Having grown up in rural Saskatchewan, he understands the importance of being able to access high quality care as close to home as possible. His passion for building a system that works for every person in every corner of our province is combined with decades of experience in health care that proves that we can truly foster and cultivate world class leadership in Saskatchewan.
Please join me in welcoming and supporting Andrew in his new role.
