Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day – Saturday, June 21
On Saturday, June 21, celebrations will take place across Canada on National Indigenous Peoples Day. This day was created as an opportunity for everyone to learn more about the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority encourages you to take part in the many Indigenous public ceremonies, educational opportunities, cultural celebrations, authentic culinary experiences and other events happening this weekend in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day.
It is the result of decades of Indigenous advocacy, cultural pride, and calls for recognition. Now, each celebration is a continuation of that spirit — building a bridge between past and future, tradition and transformation.
The SHA invites staff and physicians to wear orange on the last Friday of each month in recognition of our truth and reconciliation journey, and to reflect our SHA’s CARES values of compassion, accountability, respect, equity, and safety.
