Expanding care, supporting our people
Increasing acute care space at Saskatoon City Hospital reflects the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s commitment to deliver compassionate, high-quality care while supporting our staff with the resources they need.
Adding 109 acute care beds to the hospital, in partnership with the Government of Saskatchewan, will enhance safety, reduce emergency department wait times, and create respectful, healing environments. The phased expansion will allow our emergency departments to admit patients more efficiently, reducing patient wait times for hospital admission and ensure patients receive the right care in the right care setting. Watch this video to hear from John Ash, Vice-President of Integrated Saskatoon Health with the SHA, regarding the expansion.
This milestone reflects the SHA CARES values of compassion, accountability, respect, equity, and safety as we build a stronger, more responsive health care system.
