SHA begins operationalizing the new Regina Urgent Care Centre
Construction of the Regina Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at 1350 Albert Street is now complete. Teams from the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) have started to unload and install equipment and furniture in preparation for opening day this summer.
With installation underway, the SHA would like to thank Hospitals of Regina Foundation for their generous contribution of $2.4 million towards the furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Regina UCC.
The Regina UCC will be the first of its kind in the province and will better serve those needing same-day treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. The UCC will also provide mental health and addictions support to those who cannot wait to see their primary care provider.
As equipment and furniture are being set up, efforts continue to advance operational readiness and staff training.
What should UCC staff expect? Working on this multidisciplinary team in an exciting and fast-paced environment, staff will provide care to those in the community in need of urgent but non-life-threatening treatment.
Treating every patient in the right place, at the right time, with the right teams, is the goal, and the UCC is a step in the right direction to reach that goal.
