La Ronge long-term care home 50 per cent complete
The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced that construction on the new La Ronge long-term care home has reached 50 per cent completion. It is expected to be substantially completed by early 2027.
“The SHA is committed to safe, quality care as close to home as possible. With significantly more capacity and amenities than the current facility, this new home will deliver on that commitment to residents of the La Ronge area,” said Andrew McLetchie, Vice President, Integrated Northern Health, Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).
The new long-term care home in La Ronge will be owned and operated by the SHA and is an example of living the SHA CARES Values of compassion, accountability, respect, equity and safety. With five times the capacity of the current home, additional amenities and the inclusion of culturally significant spaces, this new home highlights the values of compassion, respect and equity for northern residents.
The SHA thanks the La Ronge and Area Long Term Care Fundraising Committee for their efforts in raising funds to purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment for the new home.
