Advancing commitments in Truth and Reconciliation
The SHA’s Truth and Reconciliation Steering Committee continues to advance the SHA’s work in reconciliation. In addition to reaffirming the SHA Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in September, the mandatory Introduction to Cultural Responsiveness Training has been integrated into the onboarding for new staff and physicians, and a target set for all current staff to complete the training by March 2025. A Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Reporting Framework Working Group has also been established to report on our progress in advancing the Calls to Action and develop a monitoring framework.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority Truth and Reconciliation Steering Committee recently spent time learning more about Métis culture, traditions and history at the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) Culture and Heritage Gallery in Saskatoon.
