Former regional health authority (RHA) region-wide policy and procedures are moving to the Policy and Clinical Standards SHA Document Finder.

Who is an SHA Team Member (2min 49 sec)
I've been following a certain policy, but a new colleague on my provincial team from another RHA follows a policy that conflicts with mine – which policy should we follow?
All team members continue to follow the policies of their former RHA. Regional policies remain in effect until replaced by SHA policies. On the rare occasion where there is a policy conflict, please contact the Policy Office at 306-655-7655 or policy@saskhealthauthority.ca.
How will I know when there is a new policy that applies to me?
SHA policies are communicated through your SHA email directing you to the SHA e-Learning system or the SHA Document Finder.
- Unless the subject line of the email says “Targeted" then the policy applies to all SHA team members.
If you do not have access to email or the intranet, your manager will communicate the policy to you.
Why haven't all former RHA policies been replaced with new SHA policies?
There are several thousand policies throughout the province. It will take time to collaboratively identify and develop new policies and/or procedures that have a province-wide application.
I'm interested in creating a policy, who do I contact to begin the process?
Please contact the Policy Office at 306-655-7655 or policy@saskhealthauthority.ca. A Policy Specialist will work with you and your vice president, executive director or director to begin the discussion on the policy gap you have identified.
What happens to my former RHA policies when a new SHA policy has been developed and implemented?
The former RHA policy will no longer be in effect.
If my former RHA does not have a policy I need, can I use a policy created or used in another former RHA?
No. Former RHA policies apply only to staff working in the former RHA. If you need a policy that does not exist in your former RHA, please call the policy office at 306-655-7655 or policy@saskhealthauthority.ca to discuss next steps.
How will affiliate organizations be impacted?
SHA policies do not apply to affiliates. SHA is working with affiliates to define policy access where appropriate.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
